Who we Are
Mevagissey & St Austell Bay Hash House Harriers
We’re a brand-new, deliberately small and properly friendly hashing kennel that kicked off in 2025, founded by our Grand Master “Super Bug”. What started as a daft idea over a pint (“Why isn’t there a local hash around here?”) has quickly become the highlight of Wednesday evenings for a growing little pack.
We run (jog, walk, laugh, and occasionally get spectacularly lost) every single Wednesday, all year round, from pubs and car parks around Mevagissey, St Austell Bay, and the gorgeous south Cornish coast. No fees, no forms, no fuss – just turn up, follow the flour, enjoy the views, and finish with a drink and some proper chat.
What we’re about
- Tiny and welcoming – usually around ten regulars so far, but we love it when the circle gets bigger.
- 100 % free – probably always will be.
- All abilities and ages – from speedy front-runners to happy strollers (and dogs on leads are very welcome).
- Stunning trails along cliffs, through hidden valleys, and down lost lanes you’d never find on your own.
- Short, silly, optional circle at the end – the songs are gentle, the beer is cold, and nobody’s ever pressured.
Our patch
The coastal paths, quiet lanes, and muddy footpaths between Mevagissey, Pentewan, Gorran Haven, Caerhays, Charlestown, and everywhere in between. Every week is different, every view is ridiculous, and every hare is already plotting how to outdo the last one.
Our motto (so far)
“Started small in 2025 – still having more fun than is strictly fair.”
Whether you’re an old-school hasher, a complete beginner, or just curious about this flour-and-beer madness, come and join us any Wednesday. First-timers and visitors get an especially warm Cornish welcome.
We’ll save you a blob of flour and the best company on the south coast.
